Grants and Services finder help

Functions

Use the Grants and Services finder to find information about a grant program and cultural sector service; or a group of grant programs and cultural services.

General tip - Select from fewer fields

Select from fewer fields rather than from all. This will result in a greater response rate and a better chance of finding a particular program.

Coverage

'Coverage' in the drop down options refers to that part of the country the grant or service applies to (rather than where it originates from). For example, the Australia Council in Sydney, New South Wales, has a wide range of grant programs which are available in all States and Territories, so all of its programs have been listed as having a 'National' Coverage.

To find programs and services which cover your state or territory you will need to do two searches - one for your state or territory only and a second for 'National' Coverage.

The reason for this is that by restricting your search to a Coverage of only one State or Territory you may miss a grant or service available to you from another State or Territory which has a 'National' coverage. Leaving the Coverage field empty will return all grants and services which match your other search criteria but may well return information about grants and services which you will not be eligible for.

Fields

Use any combination of the 'Keyword', 'Area of interest' and / or 'Coverage' fields to find a program or group of programs.

Only one 'Area of Interest' and/or one area of 'Coverage' can be selected at a time.

Leaving the Keyword field empty will still get results

Increase the chances of finding the program you are looking for by leaving the 'Keyword' field empty, and select instead from the 'Area of Interest' and/or 'Coverage' lists.

For example, if searching for grants and services about design in New South Wales, choose 'Design' from 'Area of Interest' and 'New South Wales' from 'Coverage'. This will return a list of all grants and services about design in New South Wales.

Refining or broadening your search

  • If your search returns too many results, try narrowing the search by using more specific combinations of the 'Keyword', 'Area of Interest' and / or 'Coverage' fields.
  • If your search returns too few results, try widening your search by leaving one or more of the 'Keyword', 'Area of Interest' and / or 'Coverage' fields empty.
  • Clicking on the 'Start Search' button using the default settings will return the complete list of all grants and services sorted alphabetically by name.

Interpreting results

Results screens show:

  • the grant program or service name
  • a short description of the grant program or service which meet your search criteria
  • a link to more information we hold about each grant program or service listed, and
  • a search box at the bottom of each results screen enabling you to refine your search or start a new search.
