NAIDOC (National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee) Week is coming up from 3-10 July, with a theme of 'Our future begins with solidarity'. A number of events have been planned to recognise the contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in our community and various cultural, sporting and political arenas. The Australian Centre for the Moving Image in Melbourne is set to play host to the largest animation event in Australian history. From 21-26 June, the 5th Melbourne International Animation Festival will take place; showcasing over 200 animated films from more than 30 countries.

The British Council in Australia is offering aspiring visual artists between the ages of 18-26 the chance to win $10,000 to visit the United Kingdom through its Mordant Visual Arts Award.
